Lawboy Fagsgay Invades - Part 1

gwyneddShit, son, this game is crack. I knew it would be that way but still. I'm a few hours away from dinging 70 in WoW and what do I do? I play Apollo Justice. Ahaha, my guild's gonna be a bit perturbed at me~
Apollo is the dorkiest dweeb to ever be stupidly adorable. I can't stand it, really. He so...intense. Like a little puppy or something. Everything he does, he goes all-out, often resulting in awkward silence. Which makes me so happy ahahaha. And he's smart. You just don't realize it until later, when he stops going "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" internally. Gah, his voice makes me giggle. Words cannot describe my utter adoration for this character. He's prolly my #1 right now (and I saw it coming, really. Japan didn't lie to me this time - Polly is the biggest most awkwardly adorable uke ever. Not that he couldn't switch, but the stammer-blush thing fits him so well~).
Kristoph...holy shit. I swear, the first thing I thought was Has Jade invaded this game too?!. The hair, the glasses, the smarm, the "I think he's being mean but I can't really tell D:" attitude. Love love love love. I know he's evil, but damn is he fun. Oh, and his OBJECTION is pretty unf.
I will admit this now to the world; proudly, loudly and in public spaces - I LIKE HOBO!PHOENIX. I LOVE HOBO!PHOENIX. So he's not the same Phoenix? That's the point. It's called character development, ass-wipes who bash him before even playing the game. He's calm, cool, collected, snarky, smarmy, so smart D:, and a bit of a bastard. I love it~. By the end of the case, I'd changed my mind - Krissy was Jade-like in looks, but Phoenix was Jade in spirit. /cheese. And "grape juice"? Ahahaha, right. It's grape juice, of a kind.
I showed Phoenix to Aaron, who replied promptly, "He's a pretty cute hobo." Outside interpretations to GS are always the best.
Anyways, on to the case itself. The initial dramatic ":0! I-It's Phoenix Wright!" from the Judge and Payne was...surprisingly well done. When Payne said, "Better a pianist who can't play piano than defense attorney who can't defend.", I simultaneously flew into a rage, and was so incredibly pleased that Capcom put that kind of jab in there. It's nice to know I won't have to depend on fiction to get delicious angsty insults.
Hobojerk was amazing. He skirted the truth, acted cocky at everything, made fun of just about everyone in the court, and was still Phoenix Wright. I know his personality changed, but it's still him - he's still observant, still determined, still takes risks and still does it all for the sake of justice. Twice, he shouted OBJECTION. Each time, little chills ran down my spine at his voice. It just made me blubber in incoherent, nostalgic glee. It's then that you really remember what he used to be - for a brief second, you expect to see that stupid blue suit, you remember Edgeworth, Maya, Mia, SL-9, DL-6, Lotta, Matt, Gumshoe, von Karma - you remember what was. It's really rather sad, but in a good way. I'm not quite sure how to explain it - that kind of rich, angsty past in characters always makes me happy, and this is even more profound considering I was there for all of it.
Bottom line on Phoenix: he's a cocky jerk with explosive amounts of character growth that I cannot wait to delve into.
I was a little disappointed that I took down Kristoph this early (though I'm sure he'll be coming back eventually). They betrayal aspect wasn't as profound as it could have been, had Capcom given us one more case. But it was still well-done - Krissy's freak-out on the witness stand made me lol. Ahahaha, the lobster. WTF, Capcom, ilu.
Olga Orly. Olga. Orly. "My name is Olga Orly." Me: "YARLY?! NO WAI!" Right off the bat, and the puns are back. ♥ I now want to request some Olga pirate role-play porn on the kink meme. I swear, first damn thing that popped into my head. And when she was playing Russian - "WE KEEP IT COLD LIKE IN MOTHER RUSSIA." "I GUESS YOU CAPITALISTS CANNOT UNDERSTAND." Delicious lines~
Speaking of which - Best line ever, only because I'm a sucker for misinterpretation and this just leaves so many doors open, especially out of context:
Phoenix: "Someone taught me these things long ago. Now I'll teach them to you."
Apollo: "B-But I'm not worthy!"
Worthy. Worthy. Mildly humorous out of context, even more so with the unintentional 1-5 reference (or was it? Capcom did reference 3-3 in 1-5). I just really love the delicious angst inherent in past relationship!Phoenix/Edgeworth. Maybe I'll try and explain that someday. Bah.
P.S., Phoenix's facial expressions are wonderful. He's either A) Stoned B) Smirking or C) Srs Goddamn Bzns. It's an improvement over GS1-3's A) Embarassed B) O SHI- and C) I've Got You Now!
I can't wait for Trucy, Klavier, Ema, and more Phoenix. Right now, I'm leaning more towards P/A, but that's only 'cause I've not seen Klavier and Polly interact in-game yet. (Oh, and Kristoph/Phoenix delicious hatesex yesplz. Unf).
