A few things!
First, in light of my recent joining of
summations (I AM INSANE), I've gone about trying to make my writing process easier. As I am hopelessly ADD and usually have 18 tabs and 5 IM windows open at any time, I went hunting for delicious software.
And oh did I find it.
Write Room is a beautiful piece of work. It's a word processor that strives to be 'distraction free', and it really truly is. When you boot it up, it covers your screen so you can see only two things; a custom-sized column of font, and black space. That's it. No blinking IM windows, no internet just behind you, no buttons and fonts and colors and sizes and formatting cluttering up your screen. Just text. I am, in fact, using WR to write this right now!
Bottom line - if you've ever had a problem concentrating on writing, or even just getting started, try this program. The 30-day trial is free. The full program is something like $25, but I'm already pretty sure I'll be buying it.
And Windows users need not despair:
Dark Room is the exact same thing, but for you silly .exe types~
Next up, Pokemans! I've....not really been playing lately. Except I have! I've-- been playing Voltob Flip in Goldenrod ;; Goddamn logic-based games are my weakness. I'm trying to buy Ice Beam (Piloswine needs some ACTUAL ICE MOVES THAT DON'T SUCK before I get to Lance :|), and I'm half-way there. Voltorb Flip is nice, because it isn't gambling-based; you can't actually lose coins! Crai.
And for my last bit of business, I'm thinking about doing my writing for
summations primarily in that ridiculous modern-verse thing I just posted. I've already got most of the setting planned out, and am sort of thinking about plot. Ugh, why do I do this to myselllllllf. AUs are giant time sinks that no one except the author cares about - don't do this at home, kiddies.
I WOULD APPRECIATE SPAM RE: ME ATTEMPTING TO WRITE SOMETHING WITH A HINT OF CONTINUITY OR LONGFIC.
