So that only took forever huh.

I got um. a little distracted. Fuck you Voltorb Flip, fuck you. I played it enough to get Ice Beam AND Thunderbolt. And then I got stuck grinding for the Elite Four and it was going SO SLOW so I just did other things for a while :|. Serves me right for trying to raise a brand-new pokemon for my team.

ANYWAY, LAST TIME ON RIAN PLAYS POKEMON:

I was up to 6 badges. I then laid waste to Pryce (June, Cerebus, thank you), and- hit an unsurprising roadblock with Clair. Fucking dragons man. Took Ran's advice, grinded up a few levels, and then jumped back in a beat her.

I then spent NO LESS THAN 5 HOURS running around trying to get that fucking gift Dratini from the Dragon Shrine dude, only to realize I had forgotten to get the extra TM from Clair aslkjaf. GOT THE FUCKING DRATINI. I named her Sleipnir and chucked Baron for the goddamn dragon.

Then I spent like 15 hours grinding for the Elite Four. I WILL SPARE YOU THOSE DETAILS. Elite Four wasn't terrible - only two particularly bad spots. 1) I got to Karen and forgot a fighting type, barely made it through; 2) Lance. THE PROBLEM WASN'T ACTUALLY HIS THREE GODDAMN DRAGONITES. The problem was uh. I sort of one-shotted all of his pokemon because of hellyeahicebeam, and then he pulled out the Aerodactyl. That thing is fast and my ice/water types are not, so not only did I have to rotate-revive my party until someone survived a hit and I could hyper potion, I also had to watch as Lance Full Restored that motherfucker THREE TIMES. Oh my god sobbing.

BUT I SURVIVED SO IT'S OK. I'll probably go fight them again in a little while for delicious moneys and XP.

KANTO:

Have beaten Sabrina, Lt. Surge, Misty, and Erika. Sabrina was easy (Cerebus), Lt. Surge was easy (Aconcagua), Misty was easy, even with the Starmie? (Ampharos) and Erika was easy (Cerebus). I was really hoping for an actual challenge with these guys, not the same easy curb-stomping routine we had last G/S :(. Oh Nintendo, why couldn't you have made Kanto more like a real zone, instead of just free badges?

I am currently on the bike path, headed for Fuchsia. Perhaps adorable ninja girl will be harder....?

Or not, what with Alakazomg and Aconcagua :c
